The conference story

Yale turned the campus-to-campus relay into a strategy for reform.

A student left Harvard’s summit daunted by the scale of institutional change, then helped bring 1vyG to Yale. The gathering was built to send students home with tactics—not only solidarity.

Inside the gathering

Shared experience, translated into action.

From Posts to Progress

After attending Harvard’s gathering, Laura Plata wondered how one student could change a centuries-old institution. She and co-chair Rayan Alsemeiry answered by organizing Yale’s 1vyG around a direct proposition: social visibility should become institutional reform.

The conference brought 340 students from 18 institutions together with more than 50 speakers. Participants compared concrete supports—including pre-orientation programs, emergency funds, dedicated centers, and textbook access—and practiced working with administrators and peers to bring workable ideas back to campus.
